Capacity building case studies

St Martin-in-the-Fields received a grant from the Archbishops Council's 'Strategic Development Funding' to support the development of HeartEdge. The award is enabling HeartEdge to develop and resource its growing network of member churches. The funding is for resources being developed for each of the 4 Cs (compassion, culture, commerce and congregation). These will be used by member churches to develop their mission. A team of experienced practitioners will also be appointed to work with churches to develop and build dynamic, relevant activity related to the 4 Cs.

We are beginning to add case studies from this research undertaken by Naomi Jacobs to the Resources section of this website.

The first case studies to be added were:

  • Culture: ArtSpace at Westbourne Grove Church
  • Compassion: Food Ministry at St Peter's Harrogate
  • Congregation: Shoeburyness and Thorpe Bay Baptist Church

We have now added the following:

  • Commerce: All Saints Kings Heath
  • Culture: Longniddry Parish and Elcho Artspace
  • Culture: BEYOND
  • Culture: St John the Evangelist, Kingston
  • Culture: Llangollen Parish
  • Congregation: Church from Scratch
  • Congregation: The Open Table Network
  • Congregation: Belle Vue Baptist Church
  • Compassion: Anna Chaplaincy
  • Compassion: Wythenshawe Parishes

More case studies will be added as the research progresses.
