Sacrifice Peace and Reconciliation

A group of service veterans who all suffered from PTSD came together to create a sculpture

Sacrifice peace and reconciliation was the title of a project which focussed on the restoration of a memorial window in Paul Church remembering a soldier killed in the Battle of the Somme in 1915.

A group of service veterans who all suffered from PTSD came together to create a sculpture to be installed in the church’s Quiet Garden.

None had sculpted before. Yet the concentrated focus required on the detailed work plus a sense of camaraderie brought a real sense of healing to the group and created a powerful work of art.
